World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2023

Celebrating Safety Culture and Leadership with Northern Gas and Power

April 28 marks the annual World Day for Safety and Health at Work, a global event that aims to promote the prevention of occupational accidents and diseases. The theme for 2023 focuses on safety culture and leadership within the workplace and company organisation.

At Northern Gas and Power and our sister operation, ClearVUE.Business, we understand the importance of a strong safety culture and effective leadership in keeping our employees and customers safe.

We actively lead by example in our organisations, prioritising safety and attentively addressing colleagues’ concerns. This approach ensures ongoing improvements in safety compliance and fosters a secure environment for our employees.

Our passion for safety and unwavering dedication to quality underscore our commitment to creating safer workplaces. We believe that prioritising safety and wellbeing contributes to a positive work environment, benefiting both employees and customers.

By continuously working to improve safety measures, we strive to make our workplaces safer for everyone involved. Through active communication and a strong safety-first mindset, we create a culture that values safety and supports employee wellbeing.

ClearVUE.Business: Safer Contractor Status

ClearVUE.Business was recently awarded the Safer Contractor status by Alcumus Group, a global leader in contractor management safety solutions. This prestigious recognition is trusted by many leading brands in high-risk industries, and it demonstrates ClearVUE’s commitment to safety compliance.

Northern Gas and Power: Defibrillator Installation

In a proactive effort to ensure the wellbeing of our people, NGP recently installed a defibrillator at the Feel Well Deli kiosk. The defibrillator was donated by the Red Sky Foundation and installed on Valentine’s Day—a day that celebrates love and care. The device is located at What3Words: “puppy.weeks.flip.”

Fire Safety Training at ClearVUE.Business

ClearVUE.Business recently participated in an engaging and informative day of fire safety training. Our team gained hands-on experience using fire extinguishers, learned evacuation procedures, and participated in a scenario simulation.

Safety is our top priority across our group, and we are committed to ensuring our teams are equipped to handle any emergency situation. We extend our gratitude to ISTC – International Safety Training College for their valuable guidance.

Embracing the Spirit of World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2023

According to the International Labour Organization (ILO), the World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2023 is an opportunity to create a dialogue on how to promote and establish a culture of prevention on occupational safety and health.

Northern Gas and Power and ClearVUE.Business actively create safer work environments, contributing to global efforts to reduce occupational accidents.

David Beech, Head of Health & Safety, Facilities and Wellbeing, said, “On World Day for Safety and Health at Work, we reaffirm our commitment to safe and healthy workplaces. Our organisations prioritize constant improvement, believing that safety and wellbeing lead to secure and supported employees.”

We uphold the highest safety standards and take necessary steps to protect employees and customers. By embracing the spirit of World Day for Safety and Health at Work, we work towards a future with safe and healthy workplaces for all.
