NGP Finalist in British HR Awards 2022

Northern Gas and Power has been named a finalist in this year’s British HR Awards.

The British HR Awards celebrates businesses and individuals who are truly passionate about delivering a world-class People experience.

There were over 100 entries this year, from innovative startups to tech unicorns, global giants, nonprofits and everything in between.

NGP showed how its “initiatives are transforming the People experience and delivering tangible value for their organisations”.

What is the People initiative at NGP?

Over the last year, our People initiatives have fostered closer connections between colleagues and our customers. This has ensured that we share best practices with our customers and enhance the value of our relationships.

Diversity is part of the business’ heritage, while inclusion embodies its future growth. This transition has been driven from the very top of the organisation, with senior positions opened to drive the agenda. A renewed focus on the People function at NGP through a strategic People partnership network ensured the impact was worthwhile.

Enriching the People experience

People Director at NGP, Scott High said: “Getting to the finals of the British HR Awards in Large Organisation of the Year category is a fantastic achievement for Northern Gas and Power. It’s a reflection of the hard work and dedication of our colleagues.

“We’re passionate about our people at NGP. Diversity is in our DNA. We know how important it is for our colleagues to feel supported and free to be themselves at work. We’re leading the sector in the work we do for customers. Our approach to reward, recognition and health and wellbeing shows how we’re leading the colleague experience too. From our first class learning and development programme to our family-friendly policies, we understand what helps our team deliver excellent results.

The phenomenal growth of our business shows that a happy, successful team creates an exciting, ambitious and energised place to build successful careers for people to thrive.”

Nate Harwood, Founder of New Possible and British HR Awards judge said: “The quality and diversity of entries has made judging a real challenge, but also a great privilege. We’re immensely proud to recognise the organisations and individuals that are working hard to create exceptional People experiences.

“These leaders are fundamentally reimagining the future of work and helping to showcase British HR leadership on a truly global scale. Congratulations to all the Finalists.”

We’ll find out if we’ve won at the awards ceremony in Central London on the 21st April 2022.
