Everyone has the chance to succeed and
change their life with Northern Gas and
Power, whatever their background

Our values at NGP are based on an innate desire to share our success with our people.

We work together and we succeed together. That means fostering a culture of inclusivity – we ensure
all our colleagues are included in our success story. It’s something that is part of the very fabric of this business, going back to when it was founded by our CEO, Fokhrul Islam.

Be you at NGP

Diversity in our heritage, inclusion in our future

We do our utmost at Northern Gas and Power to value our People for who they truly are. We want all our colleagues to feel free in themselves at work.

Our People Strategy reflects our DNA: a set of principles based on inclusion, diversity, and acceptance. Between all our companies, our colleagues come from over 30 different nationalities, spanning five operations around the globe.

We are proud to say that more than half of our People are from minority backgrounds, whether that be from the LGBTQ+ or ethnic communities. In our last inclusion and diversity survey which we conducted in October 2021, 96% of respondents agree or strongly agree that they can be themselves in this business and feel that their background and identity are valued and respected.

At Northern Gas and Power, we want to progress towards making society more open, more equal, more diverse, and more inclusive. We’re building a welcoming workplace where we recognise, respect, and celebrate each others’ stories.

Be part of our story. Be you at NGP.

The NGP Life

All of the team at Northern Gas and Power – and across the global group – work towards making our culture fun, vibrant, inclusive and welcoming. Our new recruits, whatever their position, quickly become part of the #NGPFamily.

These solid principles have grown organically as the company has progressed. They remain an integral part of our identity today. We will continue to promote this inclusive culture, which our foundations were built on, to create an attractive and dynamic place to work. We believe in it.

The success of the company, including the awards we have received, have only been made possible through the strengths of our diverse, talented and highly-engaged workforce. It is our mission to ensure this continues, and that anyone
who joins this unique business knows they will be treated with respect.

Lighting the Way for Inclusion Week

Working alongside Inclusive Employers we were delighted to promote Inclusion Week – the national celebration from 27 September to 3 October. We brought our teams together from all over the world and we launched a People survey to gauge their feedback and thoughts. As a finale we worked with our local borough – Gateshead Council – to light up the iconic Gateshead Millennium Bridge across the river Tyne in our company colours - blue and green.
